About This Tour
Dingo's K'gari (Fraser Island) tours have the most comprehensive access to this stunning World Heritage-listed island. Our 3 Day, 2 Night K'gari (Fraser Island) Camping Adventure allows a self-driven experience to see the stunning lakes, creeks and rain forests that make up this wonderful island. At night, retreat to your own private campsite just metres from the beach for drinks and tales by the fire with your fellow adventurers!
You'll be placed into groups and taught how to drive safely on Fraser Island ahead of your big adventure. Depart Freedom Hostel by 9:30am which takes approximately 10 minutes to drive to the barge (ferry) and board for your 10-minute barge crossing. Once you've arrived on the world's largest sand island, drive for 1 hour to the Eurong Beach Resort along 75 Mile Beach — K'gari (Fraser Island)'s own highway with no speed limits!
Age requirement: This tour is strictly 18–36 years. Must be able to drive a manual vehicle. International permits without a national licence will NOT be accepted.
Sleeping bag hire is included in the price of this tour.
Optional Vehicle Damage Liability Reduction: No Cover = 100% liability. Reduce to $1,500 excess for $25, or reduce to $500 excess for $50. Payable at check-in.

Itinerary
The morning starts bright and early with our compulsory tour briefing at 7AM sharp at Freedom Hostel, 20 Spectrum Street, Rainbow Beach. You'll be placed into groups and have the opportunity to organise luggage storage. You will also be taught how to drive safely on Fraser Island ahead of your big adventure!
We aim to depart Freedom Hostel for K'gari (Fraser Island) by 9:30am — approximately 10 minutes to drive to the barge (ferry) for your 10-minute barge crossing. Once on the world's largest sand island, drive for 1 hour to Eurong Beach Resort along 75 Mile Beach. Here, grab a coffee and chocolate croissant (own cost) for morning tea.
From Eurong, the adventure really begins as we drive to the famous Lake McKenzie, one of the most popular and picturesque highlights of K'gari. We stop for lunch and time to swim and relax in the amazingly clear waters of the lake before driving up the beach to your campsite around 3:00pm. Settle in for an early dinner, some well-deserved drinks and plenty of fun!
The day begins with a quick breakfast to fuel your busiest day on K'gari! First stop is Eli Creek, a beautifully clear creek perfect for a relaxing swim. Travelling north, stop at Maheno Shipwreck for a photo opportunity and a short history lesson about this famous K'gari icon, before continuing on to Indian Head, K'gari's highest point.
From here you may be lucky enough to see whales and sharks in the ocean before travelling to Champagne Pools for a dip. Lunch is served at either Maheno Shipwreck or Champagne Pools, depending on time constraints, safety and beauty. In the afternoon, travel back to camp for dinner and drinks.
Start with breakfast before cleaning and disassembling your campsite. Once packed up, drive to the beginning of the Lake Wabby walk where you'll stride through the dunes to find a tropical paradise! Lunch follows your trip to Lake Wabby before you begin the drive down the beach and back to the barge.
Once arrived on the mainland, head to the 4WD shed where you can unpack and quickly clean the cars. Return to Freedom Hostel between 3:00pm and 4:00pm.

Pickup & Departure Info
Safety Briefing: 7:00 AM at Freedom Hostel Rainbow Beach — 20 Spectrum Street, Rainbow Beach QLD 4581. Please arrive on time to meet your guide and group.
Pickup: Freedom Rainbow Beach, Spectrum Street, Rainbow Beach QLD — departs between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM, depending on tides.
Return: Freedom Rainbow Beach between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, depending on tides and itinerary. Strongly recommend booking onward travel for the following day to avoid issues caused by late returns.
Pre Check-In & Online Waiver
All passengers receive an email 7 days prior to departure to complete the Pre Check-In form and purchase any optional Vehicle Damage Liability Reduction. Once your online check-in is completed, no reconfirmation is required. Check your spam/junk folder if this doesn't appear in your inbox.

Open dated bookings require 7 days notice before your scheduled start date.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations within 7 days of the start date incur a 100% cancellation fee.
Terms & Conditions
- Customers wishing to change or cancel their tour must do so at least 7 days before the tour departure time or fees may apply. Any changes are subject to availability.
- Notifications of intent to change or cancel made out of office hours are deemed to be received at the time when the office next opens.
- Itineraries may be changed due to tides and weather conditions to ensure you maximise your time on K'gari (Fraser Island).
